Did we catch something?

As many of you know I love anything paranormal. I love to watch shows about ghosts and ghost hunts. I love stories about paranormal experiences, and I've even had a couple of my own. I also like to take ghost tours whenever we travel. I've done them in Savannah and even in Vancouver during one of our cruise excursions --- I know, I know! Pictures are coming

So this past weekend we went on a ghost tour of Kissimmee, Florida.

I have always taken my camera, but have never "captured" anything. This time was an exception. I think we captured a few anamolies, but I'll let you decide.

This was our first stop. We are at a train depot. As our guide was telling us about the place, I just turned to my right and snapped a picture. You can see our tour guide's backpack on the left. I swear to you - hand held high - that the green light was NOT there when I took the picture. It was pitch black. We don't know what that is...

Bug took this picture at a monument in downtown. It is a little blurry because she was aiming the camera at a bench and it wouldn't focus well. What amazes me is the streak on the left. There weren't any bugs around, and I watched her take the picture. At first I thought it could be her fingernail, but looking at it closer it doesn't look like that at all. I think the little blob underneath is a street sign, but we have no idea where the streak came from.

This picture freaks me out a little. This was taken at Kissimmee's courthouse; where the hanging tree still stands. Bug went up to the windows to take pictures inside... look right above the flashes reflection and to the left... I see a face... do you see it?

This was a creepy place. This was taken at a funeral home's playground. Yes, you read that right. This funeral home built a playground so children will have something to do as the funerals are taking place. Legend has it that a little girl named Isabella haunts the playground. Our guide said people have called the police in the middle of the night to ask them to come get the kid playing on the playground.

If you ask her to show up she will, and I think she did. This picture is of a covered wagon play thingy... if you look at the front, tiny glass window I think there is someone sitting there. I tried to circle it. You may have to click on the picture to make it larger. Carl thinks I'm crazy, but SOMETHING is there.

This next picture cracks me up. Like I said, you can ask Isabella to show up and she will. The guide said you can ask her to make a blue orb or a red orb and she'll do it for you. I told the kids, let's see if she'll show up for us! I put the kids next to the wagon and said "Isabella, this is J-man and Bug. They are kids that would LOVE to have their picture made with you. If you can, give us an orb so we can see that you are here." I didn't get an orb but the look on Bug's face is priceless. I don't think she necessarily wanted Isabella to show up...

BUT, the picture right above this one was snapped a few seconds after I took the one of the kids. Long enough for me to move around a swingset and take the picture of the wagon. Do you think Isabella did what I asked her to do?

We had other pictures of orbs and such, but I don't really trust those. Orbs could be dust or bugs or anything else floating in the air. (Although I do have a red orb in one and that was strange.)

What do you think? Think we caught a few paranormal things? Or am I just seeing stuff I wish were there?

This is so cool

I am literally on the road blogging. We are driving down I-75 on the way to Orlando and I stuck the aircard in the laptop. Voila! Surfing the net, checking blogs and emailing. What did we do before all this technology? huh? Who plays the alphabet game or license plate tag anymore?

BTW: please send up prayers for my Aunt Mary. She is Coffeypot's sister and is in the hospital. She's had diabetes for YEARS and now has other issues on top of it. She isn't doing well, but she IS improving from where she was earlier this week.

Alright -- Carl is giving me dirty looks, so I'm gonna log off and start looking for a hotel room to stop in. Tomorrow is Sea World! WOOT!

Tracey Arm Fjord

You have waited patiently. It is time to show you the next stage of our trip - a cruise up Tracey Arm Fjord to Sawyer Glacier. A fjord is pass made as a glacier melts; as it moves back, the rocks and mountains reveal themselves. It was COLD outside... luckily we didn't have to get off the boat. It was amazing.

I hope you enjoy all of these landscape pics!!

Mom and my step-dad bundled up against the cold weather. The coffee got cold FAST.

This looks like an avalanche came sliding down the mountain and took out most of the trees.

I was sitting in our cabin warming up... I took this picture of Carl while he was outside. Can you believe how close we were to the cliffs?

We got word from our captain that our sister ship - the Star Princess - was up at the glacier and heading back. We were going to pull over and wait for her to pass. She is the exact replica of our ship, so to see her is like looking in a mirror at ourselves.

While waiting on her to appear I took some pictures from the top of the ship. We only stayed out there long enough to see the ship pass.

This looks like another avalanche site...

I called this Boob Mountain. Can you see why?

Here she comes out of the mist. Look how tiny she is compared to the mountains surrounding her!

Closer...

Again, she is so small... and there are thousands of people on her. Makes you feel a little insignificant doesn't it?

What was fun was as she passed by, we saw camera flashes going off like crazy. They were taking pictures of us and we were taking pictures of them. We were all yelling "hey!!!" at each other and could hear hundreds of voices.

One of the coolest experiences I have ever had. Another one I will never forget.

After the Star Princess passed us, we headed on up to the glacier. The entire trip up took about 4 hours.

Our first look at the ice field in front of the glacier. The Star only went this far. Our captain decided to be more bold and headed INTO the ice field. They don't call him "Ice Man" for nuttin'.

I loved this waterfall next to our ship. It came down the mountain and then spread out over this rock formation. We were told that if you were to stick your hand in the waterfall, your hand would be flash frozen. Now THAT is cold.

Up we go into the ice field. If you look to the left of the picture you will see the cracks our ship is making in the field. It kept getting larger and larger. Mom - who doesn't swim - was trying hard not to freak out.

This is a look behind the ship. You can see just how far we have gone into the ice field. Remember, our cabins were on the back of the ship!

And the glacier... it looks like a huge waterfall. It is a mile and a half wide and 250 miles long. It goes into Canada.

Me and my hubby. I had on a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and TWO coats. I don't think I have ever been so cold in my life.

And one last story. At dinner one night, Carl and I were talking to a couple from Australia. We were discussing Tracey Arm and John (the man of the couple - duh) got all excited. He told us that as we were leaving the area, he and a bunch of folks were in the dining room eating dinner. All of a sudden they saw movement on the cliffs. It was a bear chasing a mountain goat down the side of the mountain!

Can you imagine? I would have loved to have seen that, but our cabin was on the other side of the ship. Bummer.
I took so many more pictures, but I don't want to bore you too much. I thought these were the best of the bunch. Next? Ketchican.

Busy bee

We have a lot going on right now. We are trying to shove an entire summer's worth of activities into one month.

The kids just got back from a week in the mountains where they took a train ride, tubed down a river (three times!) and went horseback riding. I have pictures of the last two that I'll post... um... sometime.

Today I took a half day off work to take them to a Braves game! WOOT!

Then next weekend we are taking them down to Orlando for a quickie tour of Sea World, Universal and Islands of Adventure.

Once that is over -- two weeks later J-man has his surgery and he'll be off his feet for six weeks.

Sorry if you think I've abandonded you. I haven't. Just busy. I'll be back soon with more pictures and stories.

Day one and beginning of day two- Seattle

We flew into Seattle on Friday and began our trek around town. We went to the Space Needle first so by the time we got to the Fish Market things had started closing down.

I'm just gonna throw some pictures out and describe them if I think I need to.

Ready?

We stayed at the Westin Seattle... and we got a room on the very top floor! Here are the views from the big picture window...

I loved the colors of the cabs down below.

Guess where this is...

The crew heading over the ride to the top.

The only picture I got of the Fish Market.

I don't know what kind of flower this is, but I love it. It was in a planter outside a restaurant.

This is Carl on our balcony waiting on the ship to leave on Saturday.

It was flippen COLD! This is my mom and step-dad all bundled up.

Leaving Seattle. We are on our way!

I'm going to try and post a stop a day. Check back... I may forget. HA!

15 years in May

Did I tell you guys yet about our big trip in May? Carl and I are taking an Alaskan cruise for our 15th wedding anniversary. (My sweet dad is going to babysit the kiddos for a week - how cool is that!?!)

Yep. We'll be in Ketchikan, Alaska when we celebrate that huge milestone! Pretty exciting, no?

We are flying in to Seattle on a Friday... Anyone from up that way want to meet for coffee or something? It will probably be the only time I will be on that side of the country... and I'd love to see you guys. My hubby, mom, and step-dad will be there, too, so you'd get to meet part of my gang.

Let's make plans now. Email me and I can give you more details.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
