30 Days of Truth: Day 2

Something you love about yourself

This one is a little easier to write about than yesterday's topic.

I love that I can make people laugh.

Laughter is one of my favorite sounds... especially my kid's laugther. I love to act silly. I talk in silly voices and dance around the house in spasms. I make up goofy songs. I do everything in my power to make the kids laugh, and I won't stop until I get at least a giggle out of them.

But my favorite laugh of all? My mom's.

She hasn't had the easiest road. She is very independent, and takes things pretty seriously. Her laughter lifts my heart and makes me happy.

She has this certain laugh where she throws her head back, closes her eyes and lets it go from the gut. THAT is the laugh I aim for. THAT is the laugh were I know she gets me. If I can get it out of her, I smile from the inside out.

I love it... and her.

I love that I have passed my sense of humor and goofiness on to my kids. Their goal is to make ME laugh. I see it when they tell me their stories or when J-man stands in front of me and dances his silly dance. Or when Bug gives me her puppy-dog eyes and giggles because she knows she is being silly.

They (whoever "they" are) say that laughter is the best medicine, and I totally agree. If you feel bad, or are having a bad day, find something, ANYTHING, to make you laugh. It releases something deep down that instantly makes you feel better.

I love that I have the ability to provide that to people. I love laughter.

I almost picked my sense of humor as what I love about me - but really only Pooldad thinks I am funny [which is okay by me] so I didn't.

The reason we can never stay made at eachother [for even a day] is because we are always cracking eachother up. It is impossible to be mad when you are just dying to zing the one liner at them because you KNOW they are going to spit take.

Humor is awesome. My mother always said "Never lose your sense of humor." And I hope I never do.
