Were you NOT listening?

I just got back from getting my coffee. I was standing in line behind two other customers and there was one cashier.

Customer #1 had a $100 bill and the cashier yelled across the store if the other employee could break it from money in his drawer. He said he didn't know but he came up to the register to check.

Because he couldn't get in his drawer he asked Customer #2 if he could help her. She handed him a stack - about a 1/4 inch thick - of scratch off lottery tickets. All she said was "I'm going to need a receipt for those."

Cashier #2 didn't know how/like working iwth lottery tickets so he handed them back to Cashier #1. She asked the customer "How much is this?" Customer #2 says "Oh, it is less than $200... and I need a receipt for them."

I looked at her like she was stupid, Cashier #1 looked like her eyes were going to bug out of her head, and Cashier #2 just did a little grunt.

Cashier #1 handled it well by saying "I don't have enough money to cover these. I can't even break one hundred dollars... I won't be able to give you the cash for these."

I walked out as Customer #2's voice was getting louder.

Can you believe that? Does she honestly think they will have the money to pay her when they can't give a dude in front of her enough change for $100?

People like that irritate the crap out of me.

Happy Sunday morning, y'all!!!!!

Ahhh....the self entitled lottery players. They are the worst. The lottery, in and of itself, I have no problem with, but these types that play and demand/are pushy about their winnings or getting more tickets NOW! or scratching at the counter [personal pet peeve] drive me bonkers.

I can imagine how small the store was - how could she NOT hear? Bah!

Happy Sunday to you too!

I hope the cashier's told her to settle down. I hardly think that was the ONLY place she could redeem her tickets.

Oooooooooooh - I would have been happy to help her out. But dang, once I got them out of her grubby little hands, I wouldn't have been able to run fast enough!
