Crazy train

I got to see a fight yesterday at the train station.

I had just gotten off the train and was heading to my car. It was pretty crowded but one guy caught my attention. He was limping a little -- I am pretty sure he had cerebal palsey. He (let's call him CPG) was walking directly in front on another guy with red hair (RHG). Every second or two CPG would turn around and mumble to RHG. I thought they new each other or something...

Untill we got to the security gates.

When you leave the station you have to pass through these gates; they are about 5 feet tall and open out into a v-shape. You have to stop and swipe your rider card for the doors to open. When CPG and RHG got to one of the gates, CPG turned around and blocked RHG. He was all in his face, with his head tilted to the side, and kept mumbling and pointing at him. I heard "stay away from me mother-f'er" at one point.

Suddenly he (CPG) started pointing at the top of RHG's head and was saying "I need the police!". I NEVER heard RHG say a thing. Someone in the crowd said "He's been harrassing this guy on the train the whole time!" Now I don't know who was harrassing who, but from what I saw this was ALL CPG's doing.

I moved out from behind them (because I was a few steps in line to go thru the gate they were in) to go to another security gate.

CPG moves quickly and pushes RHG. Well, RHG came to life! He grabbed CPG by the sides of his coat and spins 180 degrees then falls on top of CPG pinning him up against a huge metal gate. The punches start flying. As I got throught the gate, I saw a couple of younger guys get on top of RHG to pull him off. I heard a woman screaming "Call the police! Call the police!" - I think it was the same one that was talking about the harrassment.

I kept going. I turned around one last time and saw that they had them apart but both were still lunging at each other. I also heard whistles as the cops were running toward the melee.

I have to admit I was pretty scared. I'm not big on confrontation so to see two grown men go at it like that -- and out of the blue -- shook me. I couldn't get it out of my head all night.

Are you sure there's no other way for you to get to work other than by train? That's ridiculous! Glad you weren't pulled into the mix though.

The difference between you and me is that I would have loitered around to see what happened after I got out of the way. Too nosy for my own good sometimes.

Lisa: Yes, I could drive to work, but I hate traffic. This is the first time I have seen anything like this happen. If it becomes a regular thing then I might have to reconsider.

Cindy: I wanted to, but I was afraid bullets would start firing. I think I was the only one leaving the scene... everyone else was either watching or walking toward it. I kept waiting on the "fight, fight, fight" chant to start up like in high school!

I would have been taking bets. Some people have all the fun.

You could ride that bus I told you about! Might be a little bit more trouble, but a lot safer..It's worth checking into...
