I know it has only been a week and the newness of being back in school hasn't worn off yet, but J-man has really impressed me.
He is bringing home his agenda -- signed by his teachers, his homework, and any papers that were given out for our signature. This is a 100% turn around from last year.
I only hope he doesn't get "bored" and start back pedaling. In the mean time I am praising him to the heavens. He really is a good kid and this was an eye-opening experience for him.
And one I don't think he wants to repeat.

Kid L is so not ready for school to start so I am scared that we will be starting the year with hell.
CCW: Girl, I can totally relate. My stomach has been in knots for the past week. I've got my fingers crossed for you.
I don't know the whole story, but sounds like he is ready to be responsible. Hope for you both this lasts.

Melanie: Thank you for the good wishes. Long story made short: J-man failed 6th grade last year, and boy did he struggle. This year is a fresh start for him and we are hoping it jolted him into reality. He is making MUCH wiser choices so far.
We need all the luck we can get.
