Not together... sorry if that confused you or grossed you out.
Keeping that in mind, let me introduce you to my new favorite taste sensation.
See these?
They are olives... three or four different kinds. And they aren't plain ol' olives either. Oh no, my friends. These olives are marinated in red pepper flakes. SPICY red pepper flakes.
(Sorry the picture is so fuzzy - damn camera phone)
These things are. to. die. for. I don't get them very often because they are a little pricey, but when I DO get them they are a treat. I get a big ol' glass of tea, park my butt on the couch and savor the flavor. Popping them one by one like I'm some sort of Greek goddess.
(That is if they make it home; the only store where I can buy them is near work so I have to get them at lunch)
Delish. Yum-o. Mmm, mmm, mmm - or any other phrase Rachael Ray would use.
You should try 'em.
Really!
Go on... I'll wait.

I'm sure I would like the olives, but I'll pass on the spicy anythings.
I buy these all the time. They are PERFECT! I also buy jalapeno stuffed olives.
I like the ones from Trader Joe's stuffed with cloves of garlic. Yum-oo!!
While you are on the couch you should have Carl feed them to you while the kiddies massage you feet and the boys snuggle in your lap.
These are two of my favorite things - green olives and crushed red peppers. Must look for them the next time I'm at the grocery store.
Grizz: If you have a Whole Foods, Harry's Farmers Market, or Trader Joes you should be able to find them. They are the only places around here that sells them. Give em a shot though.
Min: I have tasted those as well and they are yummy! I had forgotten that when I wrote this.
Lisa: Never had any with garlic. I'll give that a try next.
I'll have to try to get by Harry's. They sound delightful. My new kick (being on Weight Watcher's) is the Mt. Olive brand of Petite Snack Crunchers with Texas Pete hot sauce flavoring. Pickles are almost free and I eat them a lot when I first get home because I'm usually famished. I'll have to check them out. Sounds like they would be good in a martini too. YUM!
