Friday the 13th is turning out to be bad luck for me after all. I had this experience back in October and today I was in a minor (very minor) accident.
My friend John and I went to meet another friend Donald, for lunch. After leaving the restaurant, John and I were at a red light. I saw this car heading right towards us and she was going a lot faster than I liked.
I realized she wasn't stopping. In my head I said "Oh God, she is going to hit us!" Out loud, according to John, all I said was "oh god!" He didn't have time to brace for anything. She hit us but not too hard; no airbags deployed. We made our way to the Dunkin Donuts parking lot and got out to inspect the cars.
No damage. To either car.
I asked her if she was OK - yes. She asked if I was OK - yes. I asked John in he was OK - yes. Cool! No damage, everyone is OK, it is the middle of lunch rush hour... let's just go our seperate ways.
We get back in the car. John asks me if I thought the girl was stoned out of her mind. I thought about it and realized, yeah... she acted that way. By then it was too late. She was outta there! Guess I can't blame her. Friday the 13th worked out in her favor - this time.
As for me... just a little sore. And dealing with a hubby that is mildly angry at me. Can't say I blame him. Hindsight is 20/20... wish I had let a cop deal with her.
I need some ibuprofen for my sore shoulders.
I will now let you comment... please go easy on me.
oops.

First!
If your car wasn't damaged, you did the right thing. Did you get her contact info, though, in case your gas tank falls out or something?
At least no one was hurt. That's what really matters.
Glad to hear that you are both okay, and that there was no damage to the cars. When you're in an accident, and everyone turns out to be all right and there's no damage, most times it's not worth the trouble to call the police. (Sorry, Carl.) All it means is a hike in your insurance and lots of forms to fill out.
Now, if you had suspected earlier that she was under the influence, I'd have called the cops, hassle or no, insurance be damned. You have to get impaired drivers off the street before the NEXT crash isn't minor.
So glad that you are okay, though.
As long as you're okay and aren't out any money for damages, let it go.
Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20.
I guess if there were no damages, then you did the right thing...but maybe it is a good thing to exchange numbers and info anyway. Sometimes it takes awhile for your body to relax after a jolt like that, and you don't feel the little aches and pains...
Hope it's just a sore shoulder and nothing worse. :)
glad no one was injured, but getting contact info is a must no matter how small the bump is, just take it easy for a few days and dont be surprised if you have aches and pains for a while.
wow - glad you are ok! I would have done the same thing and KB would have said the same things.
It's now Monday. How are you doing?
I'm fine! No aches or pains anywhere... and the car is still running. :)
