Thankful

I am so thankful I have the ability to work from home. I don't have to go into the office today because the roads are still horrible. Schools are closed again.

And this weather took 6 people from us - so far. There are many missing...

How scary is that?

Rain killed 6 people! Not tornados or hurricanes... rain... floods. UGH!

Our highways are not built for the deluge that came down yesterday. Some places got 5+ inches in hours... we normally get that amount in weeks or months! We got it in HOURS. The highway that goes through the middle of Atlanta was flooded... closed down in both directions...

It took one friend over 5 hours to get home due to road closures.

Carl took us around our city yesterday to show us where the creeks have washed away HUGE chunks of their banks. One such washout happened right next to some train tracks. There was a crew out trying to get the tracks shored up (hope that is a word) so all train traffic had to be stopped.

I have never seen anything like this.

I'm staying in the house today - dry. (yes more rain is heading our way but not as much)

If you want to see pictures or read about it... The AJC is our local paper...

Everyone stay safe...

The picture is I-285 - the bypass highway that circles Atlanta - at Bolton Road. That is a HIGHWAY people -- covered in water. It is closed in both directions and no one knows when it will open again.

You have been in my prayers all day. Pooldad asked me to call you to make sure you were okay - you are okay, right?

If you need to come somewhere dry VA is available, plenty of room and Pug friendly.

Let me know if you need anything.

I saw a picture of the Scream Machine at Six Flags covered in water up to one of the highest peaks! That's CRAZY! A ROLLER COASTER, people -- underwater!

That's some freaky rain right there. You all stay safe, okay?

I am glad everyone at your house is safe and dry. I have family in Heard Co. and Troup Co. so I have been thinking of everyone down that way.
