Christmas and Paris

Christmas was a lot of fun for Punkin. He got to visit family, go to Paris (Texas) and made a new friend. Here are some pictures of his festivities.

First he got to go to my mom's. Remember how pugs loooove laps? He found one on this reindeer. It was all we could do to keep him away from it.

He had a chat with Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. I don't know what they talked about, but it seemed pretty intense.

Then we found out that Punkin tried to coerce Baby Jesus out of his manger so he could take a nap. I had to tell him that wasn't very nice. Punkin didn't care... he was tired!

But then he saw all the presents... and he was wide awake again. He couldn't wait to get his paws in all that wrapping paper.

But first he had to tell everyone what he thought of the season. He says just do it all in moderation -- except the be merry part.

Before presents were opened, we went to church. He loved the lights and the music.

And he tried very, very hard to be good.

The day after Christmas, Bug introduced Punkin to a new friend. His name is One-Eyed Jack. Bug found Jack at a garage sale and fell in love with him. He's missing an eye (hence the name) and one foot, but he is as sweet as can be.

He and Punkin hit it off immediately. Here they are riding to Texas to visit Carl's family. They tried to help the GPS tell Carl where to go.

Jack started whispering to Punkin. We asked what they were talking about and Punkin said Jack was hungry.

We stopped and I got some beef jerky with cheese. I didn't get to eat much because Punkin stole it from me...

Then Jack decided he wanted the cheese... Punkin was not pleased, but he was a good boy and shared.

After eating, they had to check and see how each other's breath smelled.

Once we arrived in Paris, Punkin decided to stay home and rest. But Jack wanted to explore. The kids took him to a local park.

He played....

And rode on the spinning thing...

Then came back to the house and talked Punkin into playing as well. They got Jman on the swings and had a blast!

Jack drank a cup of coffee 'cause he was a little cold.

They came in the house when family came over. Here Jack is talking to the rest of the family while Joe (the dog) plays with one of Carl's cousins-in-law.

Carl and I decided to get out of the house, so he took Punkin and me on a tour of his town. (Jack stayed home to go to the park again) What I found fascinating was they are only 10 minutes or so from Oklahoma. He took us to the Red River.

There isn't much to look at at this point of the river.

Then he took us to the Paris Eiffel Tower. Can you tell the difference? It's subtle....

We were so busy chatting on the way to Texas that we missed stopping at the Mississippi River. We decided to stop on the way home.

Here is Punkin at the river. Behind him is the old bridge on the right, and the new one on the left.

Jack jumped in the picture and you can see the bridges a little better.

Then the kiddos jumped in.

At the top of a hill, there is a cannon left over from the war. Punkin and Jack decided to be silly and jump in. Then they got worried that it would still work. We had to calm them down to take the picture.

Look at how tiny they are!

After that the boys were too exhausted for any more pictures. They snuggled in their bed and slept the rest of the way home.

We hope you had a wonderful, exciting holiday! And here's to a prosperous, fun, exciting, healthy new year!

There's something different about that tower. I can't quite put my finger on it.

I think you need to make Jack an eye patch. That would be so cute!

My parents were married in Paris, TX. Though, I don't think the Eiffel Tower was there then...
