Unless he is grabbing a snack, getting ready for a meal, going to the restroom or heading to therapy, I never see J-man.
There is a "teen room" a couple of doors away from his room, and he spends all of his time there. He can play with a Wii or a playstation. There are other kids in there, both ones that are "in" the hospital or siblings. He has boys and girls his age to talk to... who needs mom?
I'm sitting in his room working and watching the Olympics. I'm kind of lonely. I miss him. I want him to need his mom again not be this independent person.
Oh well.
At least he still needs me to help him when he walks. (which he is doing VERY well at, by the way)
oops.

Yay for J-man. And Marni, it is a good thing, this independence. It is. However, I know what you are saying.
Break out the camera phone and let us see his workout, or playing, or sleeping, or something...
I have been tearing up non-stop for about a week because Trevor is leaving for college on the 17th. It is a terrible, awful, horrible, wonderful thing - this growing up of our kids.
Cindydianne is right. This is a good thing. It means that you have done a wonderful job with your kids.
Still, I know how you are feeling..Jessica is going into highschool and it seems impossible. Not only that, but she has barely been home all summer. She is always gone with her friends and her new little boyfriend...
SIGH...
It really does suck in some ways...
Hugs x
