Sheesh -- what a whirlwind of a weekend! What to know everything we did? I know you are just dyyyying to know!!!
Friday
Bug went to spend the night with a friend so Carl and I took J-man to see 10,000 BC. I actually enjoyed the movie! The story was great (even though the ending is a bit unbelievable) and the CG's are AMAZING.
We had a bit of a scare though. It was raining when we headed to the mall (where the theater is located), but we didn't think anything about it. Just before the movie started a couple of teenage boys sat behind us and they were all frantic. Our area was under a tornado warning and they heard the tornado sirens going off before they came in the theater. They kept calling friends to see what was going on but didn't get any answers.
We watched the movie and then headed home. WELL -- a tornado DID touch down while we were watching our movie and it was only a mile or so away from the theater. Also found out that the mall ordered everyone (except those in the theaters!!) to the middle of the mall on the lower level. I guess we were in about as safe a place as you could possibly get... no glass, brick walls. Still a little scary.
Oh yeah!!! Before the movie we went and looked at furniture. I have had my bedroom suite since I was about 5 years old; that is a looooong time. Don't get me wrong, it is still a nice suite but it is old and ready to fall apart. So... I took some of my bonus money (thank you job) and got this!
Let's all start singing now --- "Isn't she lovely. Isn't she won-der-ful." I love, love, love it and cannot wait for it to be delivered on Thursday!!!!
Ok -- that was Friday.
Saturday
Had lunch with my mom and stepdad to celebrate Carl's birthday. (which was on the 2nd and I didn't post about it -- happy belated b-day honey! Love you!) It was so nice to sit and chat with them... and not worry about cooking....
Once lunch was over, we took the kid's to stay with Coffeypot for the rest of the weekend. Then it was off to look for new bedding for that beeee-you-ti-ful new bed of ours. That took ALL flippen day, but we found something lovely and I can't wait to see it all together.
Sunday
Carl and I rolled out of bed at 6 a.m. and headed to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Cobalt 500 race. Coffeypot and Sweetea bought Carl race tickets for his birthday so we spent all day at the track. It was so much fun but the weather was insane! We froze in the morning -- I literally had on FOUR layers -- and then burned up in the afternoon. We both got sunburned on the face and arms... but good gosh we had a good time. There is nothing like the sound of those cars when they take off at the beginning of the race (or after a caution)... the rumble, sound, speed, smell... it's good to be a redneck!!!!
And Jeff Gordon didn't win! WOOT!!!
Needless to say, when we got home last night we were exhausted. We fell into bed about 9 p.m. and the alarm went off waaaay to early. I can't believe how quick the weekend went!!!!
Zesty.

Wow - what a full and fun weekend. I bought some "new" furniture this weekend too! Of course, I used Craigslist.org instead of a fancy store! A denim love seat and sofa!
