Mascots and lamps

I need to make a confession.

I've never watched A Christmas Carol or A Christmas Story. I know the plots of both, but have never actually plopped myself in front of the television to watch the stories unfold.

A sacriledge to Christmas -- I know!!!

So...

Last night I watched A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott as Scrooge. It was really, really good. The only thing that kind of creeped me out was the ghost of Christmas present. He looked like the Burger King mascot but with a nasty carpet of chest hair. Gave me the ICK big time.

Other than that, I enjoyed the movie.

Now I need to conquer A Christmas Story with Ralphie. Carl wants one of those leg lamps so bad -- but I refuse. Those things are soooo tacky!!!!

Oh my gosh, you crack me up! The Burger King mascot!!!!!

I'm one of those weirdoes who thinks A Christmas Story is awesome. I laugh every time I see it...I suspect maybe I laugh because my ol man laughs so hard when he watches it. That part with the little brother in the snow suit...

My mom started to buy us a leg lamp one year. Tacky as it may be I would definitely put it in the family room.

He wants it for the "man" room. I just can't do it... can't.

The movie is okay, but the Burger King dude is the scariest think I have ever seen. There will be some kids that grow up to be mass murderers because their psyches are so mess up looking at him. On the latest commercial, where the man says there are no more whoppers, and the King comes out of the back room all hunched over carrying a whopper… I would run thought the window.
