There are pieces of paper posted all over the walls at work with a huge letter R and, underneath, the date of September 19 (the date is much smaller than the letter).
We've been wondering what it was for. Our group is moving to another building in a couple of weeks and new folks are moving in. Could it be for them? Is the letter R some kind of direction to help them find their new cubes? If so, why is it on ALL the walls.
Finally, I asked my boss what it is for. You are never going to believe me...
September 19 is the official Speak Like a Pirate Day. There is a team on this floor trying to get everyone excited about it. They are practicing...
I kid you not.
I work with a bunch of lunatics.

Argh, me hearty! Ye should invite them all to skive off work for the day and play Puzzle Pirates instead! It'll help their piratical vocabulary, that's for sure!
Just shows how intelligent they are. R is not how it is spelled. It's spelled with an M - for Man you are stupid.
Sounds like something that should be on a sitcom.
