I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I love cooking shows. I'm a freak when it comes to the Food Network; I could watch that channel all. day. long. It drives Carl and the kids crazy. I've made some awesome recipes from Rachael Ray and some bombs from Paula Deen (love her, but her recipes tend to be too rich for me).
Tonight, though, my favorite chef is starting season 3 of his show Hell's Kitchen. He takes 12 hopeful chefs and puts them through the wringer. They have to meet his cooking, plating, and serving standards - which are extremely high. Each week, one contestant is asked to leave Hell's Kitchen, and, in the end, one gets to be Head Chef at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa in Las Vegas.
Have you met Gordon Ramsay yet? You should. He is an ex-professional soccer star, cusses like a sailor, makes people feel uber-uncomfortable, and yet is one of the most popular chefs in the UK. He is brilliant!
I've watched his shows Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and The F-word on BBC America and have yet to miss an episode of Hell's Kitchen. I couldn't be a contestant on it though. He is too tough for me; I'd be a drivelling mess the first time he screamed in my face. I love to watch others go through it though.
If you are one of my British readers, do you love him over there? What is his reputation? I would love to know.
I am so excited about tonight! I think I'll watch Rachael when I get home just to prepare myself. The kids will just have to get over it!

I get bored during cooking shows. I love Paula Dean. Just modify her.
Well drat! I missed it!! Grrrr!!!
It's on at 8:00 (last week's episode) and at 9:00 (new episode) tonight. I love the show. Have loved it from the beginning. I try really hard not to miss.
The other show like this (just went blank on the name) starts this week on Bravo (I think Wednesday night).
Will be watching both of them tonight. I've already seen all the wife swaps.
