I went through Bug's hair tonight and it wasn't so bad. She was with Coffeypot when the hairdresser told her she had them. I didn't know what to expect and I was dreading the worst.
I only found about a dozen babies and a couple of teenagers... no adults. (I explain what those are in the link from yesterday.) Thank heavens. Maybe we caught it early.
I put tea tree oil in her hair (as recommended by Biddie) and am going to really go through it tomorrow night. I'm hoping we won't see anymore of those nasty creatures.
Luckily, J-man doesn't have any. As a precaution, though, I'm taking him tomorrow night to get his head shaved. He wants one of those Skater-Boy hair styles, but this always happens when it is getting long. He is disappointed but completely understands. Afterall, he doesn't want them either!
Maybe this go round won't be so bad. Keep your fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed. I remember a friend of mine had 3 daughters with long hair and they kept getting it whenever they would go to their fathers house. She had to use kerosene to get rid of them.
Glad to hear that the infestation wasn't so over the top! Hope you have gotten them while its still early days. Here's hoping!
My eldest girl, says "I wish they were like chicken pox, you get them once and it's over".
My sis in law called ---they have the bugs again. I've checked mine, but it's not to say they don't have it though.
Holding my breath for you & me.
Does Bug get them at school? If so, does the school notify you when there's an outbreak?
My girls had them for YEARS. They were getting them from the same girls. The whole school was..It didn't stop until those 2 girls moved to another school..Seriously.
Poor Bug. I feel for her. Kerosene is another way to go, although I have never used it. You can try rinsing her hair with a mixture of water and vinegar, too. Helps to get the nits off....
Hugs xx
The part about this tath stumps me is she has been out of school for a week! She must have gotten them within the last few days of school...
GAH!
I'm not looking forward to tonight...
thank you, everyone, for your support. it means a lot to me.
I haven't heard about breakouts like this in a long time. I had them once in school and we were always checked. I don't remember anyone having them past first grade. Good luck, and I hope you don't find any live ones.
Oh UGH!
I've never had to deal with them on me or Trevor.
I had a boyfriend a long time ago(who quickly became an ex-boyfriend) that had the ones that people get "down there"
I forgot what I was gonna write because I'm too busy snickering at Cindy's comment.
Oh that sounds horrible! For you and bug. I'm glad it's not as bad as orginally thought. I'm lucky that the kids I babysit have never had those pesky critters.
Last night while I was working in the garden this had me itching. Nothing like teeny tiny garden bugs crawling around to make it wore.
now my head is itching.
worst 2 weeks of my life when my girls had them.
best of luck to ya.
