Why?
I've signed up for the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer again.
I know it is for a fantastic cause. I know it is a wonderful way to get in shape. I know I will be raising money for breast cancer research - AND all the money stays in the Atlanta area...
BUT...
It is 30 MILES! I only made it 22 last year. I walked 12 the first day (instead of 20) and 10 the next. I didn't think I would do it again. But you know what?
I have to.
This year I will have someone to walk with; my mom is joining me for this adventure.
She is a breast cancer survivor. She is the reason we have these walks. She is my inspiration and I am thrilled that she is walking with me.
My cousin, Beth, and some of her friends may be walking, too. It will be a HUGE party if we can get everyone to sign up. That will make it so much easier... the more folks you have walking, the faster the time goes!
I am also walking for my daughter. The more money that is raised for research and treatment, the better chance Bug will have if she is ever diagnosed with cancer. I pray that never happens to her, but if it does, I will know that I have helped provide the necessary funds to make her treatment possible.
Now... I just have to raise $1,000. Can you help me? Will you be one of my sponsors? If you are interested, please email me so I can give you the details on how to find my sponsorship page. If you don't want to make a monetary donation, that is fine, too.
I need A LOT of encouragement!

Carl and I started my training yesterday, too! We went to Kennesaw Mountain, rode the bus to the top and then hiked back down. It was only a one mile hike -- the round-trip is 2 miles -- but it kicked my a$$. It is SO much harder going downhill. And to walk over tree branches and rocks makes it even harder!
We have decided that each weekend he is off, we are going back to the mountain and tackling the rougher tracks. There is a 2, 5, 10 and 16 mile walk... I want to be doing the 16 miler by August.
Anyone care to join us? It is a beautiful walk and a great way to get in shape!

Good luck!!
This is a wonderful thing you are doing. It doesn't matter if you make it the whole 30 miles, trying really is enough.
Good for you Marni! Definitely a very worthy cause!!
Thank you CCW and Lisa... I'm excited!
That is awesome! I really should get up the courage to do the same. Congrats to you!
You go gurl!
Marni, this is good. This is a cause that needs as much help as possible.
Good luck, Marni! That's wonderful.
Good for you! I really want to do another one of these, but I just now got my toenails under control after the 3 Day I did 2 years ago, and I would like at least one summer of opentoed shoes. Maybe next year.
