With my new job, I get some great perks. One of them is that they will pay for two cell phone lines; we only have to pay for the "extras". When we went looking at phones a couple of weeks ago, I asked Carl if he wanted one that would allow him to take pictures, download music, connect to the internet... you know, all the fun things that phones can do now. His response? "Nah. I just need something to make calls with. I don't need that extra stuff."
SO - we are standing in the store and he sees a phone that can do all the stuff I mentioned above. He sheepishly asks if he can get that one. He said he'd been thinking about it and maybe it would be fun to be able to do that. I said OK because I wanted the same phone. :)
Fast forward to last night. Carl's best friend and his wife recently had a baby. We haven't seen her yet so when C called and said the baby was going to be at Carl's work I asked him to get a picture of her. He said "I don't know how to do that!" I explained to him how to use the camera.
Off he went... he called and said he got the picture. YAY! He was SO proud.
This morning I called him and asked him to send it to me. "Well, I don't know how to do that!" Fine. I explained how to send it. Within minutes I was looking at a picture of that cute little girl on my phone.
Twenty minutes later I got the ringtone saying I had a message. Not knowing who it could be from - after all it is 5:30 in the freakin' morning - I open it. Low and behold it is a picture of Carl, Bug and J-man.
Now that Carl knows how to take pictures and send them, I do believe I've created a monster!
If I could only figure out how to get it off my phone and into my computer! That means some new gadgets for me!
Update!
Thanks to Revan, a new commentor on my blog, I now have the picture to show you. It is a little dark, so I hope you can see it. BUT... I love it just the same.

Having been w/o a cell for 3 years I feel like a blooming idiot with my new one.
I have managed to figure out how to take pictures, upload them to Sprint, and fool with them from there. (Of course, this took mye a LONG time) I am so proud.
Sounds like me with my parents. {sigh} Every time they'd get a new gadget, I'd get emails and phone calls with "How do we ____?" or "What about ____?" It was enough to drive me crazy.
Don't know what phones you got, but I got a Motorola through Verizon. Was so excited I could take pics--until I found out I can't download them to my computer without going through their service that they charge for. Grrr!!!
you can text the picture to your email. Send it just like a message but use your email instead of a number. Should work!!Good luck
Revan: cool! let me try that!
love getting a new phone and learning how to do things with it, but i too didn't know how to get pics from phone to pc so now i am off to go and try thanks
I love my picture phone. It's the only way that I take the photos for my blog. It took KC's help for me to email to the pics to myself, tho. I still suck at that.
Cute picture of the family. I bet it made your day!
Somebody's little girl looks like her Daddy!
