Learning something new... maybe

I love it when the kids hear a new word and ask me what it means. Case in point:

Bug: Mom, what is a poker geiss?

Me: I've never heard of that before. Where did you hear it?

B: J-man said something about it and he won't tell me what it means.

I turn to J-man.

M: What the heck is a poker geiss?

J-man: (rolling his eyes and giving a heavy sigh) Bug, I told you. It is a ghost that throws things at you, opens doors and drawers, and acts mean. They are evil, I tell ya!

M: (ligh bulb going off) Ohhhh! Bug... it is a poltergeist. And J-man, stop scaring your sister!

He giggles and walks away. She still looks confused, but says "Oh! I've heard of those before" -then flops on the couch and starts watching the Disney Channel.

I guess she got her answer...
