Rain rain go away

The folks in Atlanta are nuts. Nuts, I tell ya!

Let a little bit of water fall from heaven and the drivers of this town turn into gray haired little old ladies driving to Picadilly for lunch. They drive 20 miles an hour BELOW the speed limit - although there are some nuts that think slick streets are a thrill ride and drive so fast they are a blur. I just want to get to work in one piece and at the speed limit at least. Sheesh.

Today's weather kind of matches my mood. Gloomy, misty, and blah. It is my last day at work. I start my new job on Monday. I'm gloomy and blah because it is going to be SO hard to leave today. I have been with this company for over 10 years! It is the only job my kids have known me to have. I know the people, the culture, and the "ways". I have to start all over on Monday.

Don't get me wrong. I'm excited about the opportunity.

Maybe when the rain goes away, my mood will lift.

And my eyes won't be so misty.

Starting a new job is always weird, but since you already know some of the people (if I remember correctly) it will be ok. Just ask if anyone watches Lost :-).

I keep reading that 10 years is long enough to stay with a company. After that, regardless of your job function, you start to loose productivity. That is not my thought, just what the experts say. So it is time to move on. This move will rejuvenate your creativity skills and allow you to grow. Good luck and I am proud of you.

Happens in Fort Worth too.

I imagine y'all have as much fun as we do when the water freezes, as it has the last two days.

I won't even leave the house. These people scare me.

Well, I don't know why you're leaving your job, but no matter what the reason I know it can be hard. Good luck to you on Monday, and I hope the weather clears up to bring you some sunshine :)
