J-man and I had a great date. We ate dinner at the mall and then went to see Happy Feet. Not my choice in movies, but, hey, it was all for him right? He enjoyed it and I did, too. The movie's music was so much fun... but the gentleman by my side was the best.
We talked, we walked, we laughed. God I love that kid!
We went into a record store to browse (I wound up getting The Full Monty soundtrack). He found some bracelets... some rubber, some with beads. I picked one out for him that was a black rubber number with purple skeleton faces on it... really cool. He found one with black beads and a green design. I looked at it and told him "Nope. You can't have that one." He looked disappointed but took the black and purple one instead.
As we left the store and walked down the mall I said "Do you know why I wouldn't let you buy that one bracelet? Do you know what the design was on it?"
He, of course, didn't have a clue.
I told him that the design was marijuana - pot leaves. His eyes got huge! He couldn't believe they sold that kind of stuff in stores. He said, "Whew. I'm glad I didn't get that... Daddy would have beat my butt!"
Love that kid.

So glad you two had a great evening.
It sounds like a wonderful night. I think that we'll take J to see Happy Feet.
Jarrett sounds like a real nice kid, Marni. Great kids start with great paerents.
