Tonight is going to be a test of my parental patience. Bug is having a sleepover for her birthday. Yep - four screaming, giggling little girls are invading my home around 6 p.m. and will not be leaving until noon tomorrow. And, of course, dear old Carl has to work so I'll be going it alone. God help me -- why did I agree to this?
Have you ever watched someone grow up right in front of your eyes? I did. Last night. One of Bug's little friends called her... I wish you could have seen her on the phone. She looked like a teenager sitting on the couch with the phone propped on her shoulder. She was laughing and making these sweet, silly faces. I was mesmerized; I stopped working on the computer and just stared. She is going to be eight, but I don't remember acting like her at that age! She is growing up WAY to fast.
When she hung up the phone she had the biggest grin on her face. She said "Oh, I can't wait! We are going to eat pizza and talk about boys all night!" BOYS?! ALL NIGHT?!
Help....
oops.

Welcome to motherhood hell, my cousin. And I suggest lots of wine tonight.
Wine, hell. I've got the Bloody Mary mix and vodka all lined up.
Bloody Mary mix, hell. Just line up the vodka and keep pouring, Alcohol Lips.
