My mom is the best. I'm not going to get to see her on Mother's Day, and I am bummed about that. I haven't been feeling well, and don't think I can handle the ride out and back. With that being said, let me tell you about her.
I am in awe of my mom. She became a single mother at 29 and had to raise me on her own. I went through my rebellious stage, but she stood firm and guided me the best way she could. She has a strength of character that I only WISH I could have. She has a big heart and loves with all of it.
She is a survivor. She went through her breast cancer treatments with strength, humor, and braveness. I would have been a basket case, and if she was, she never let me see it.
I love you, Mom...I will miss you on this special day. I can only hope that I will be as good a mom as you were. You raised a pretty good kid - if I do say so myself - and I pray I can do the same for my children.
oops.

You made me cry. You do have a great role model as a mom ... and you're a great mom yourself. Enjoy yourself on your day!
