I am in Dallas, TX this week for a class so I am a little out of the loop for news on the homefront.
Carl texted me during class to say he is a proud papa. Not knowing what that really meant I had to wait on a break to call him for clarification. My mind was whirling... did Walker learn a new trick? Did Dozer do something new?
Why didn't I think about the kids? They are with my dad for the week. They crossed my mind quickly, but... what could they do without Carl to witness it?
Anywhoo... I called at break and, low and behold, it WAS about a kid. J-man to be exact. Carl had gone to the high school to pick up his report card.
He passed ALL of his classes. ALL OF THEM.
He is going to be a Junior next year.
I am so freakin' proud of him. I nearly cried in the hallway of the facility. I had to take several deep breaths before I could talk.
Wow.
The kid has turned a corner, has a goal in mind, and is working hard to achieve it.
Wow.
oops.

What great news!
I am proud, too. When I read him this post, he just smiled and said, "Where's the duct tape?" He and Jordan are building a Hunger Game outside and needed it for some reason. But he is proud, too.
K. What's the trick? I've got a kid about to be a junior in high school and he doesn't seem to care if he passes his classes or not! :)
Oh, Barb... he doesn't care! Or at least he didn't. I don't know WHAT happened... he suddenly decided he wanted to go to college and BAM! Work done and classes passed.
Trust me... we are scratching our heads wondering what happened, too!
Hope it all turns around for you. Kids are a pain, aren't they?
