Carl called me this morning and said "I am bringing you something." That sentence can be dangerous... told him whatever it is, it had better not be breathing.
It wasn't.
Instead he walked in with a gallon freezer bag of fresh picked blueberries.
I don't know what to do with them. I guess I could make some muffins, but what else can you do with them? Freeze them? Make a compote? (WTH is a compote? LOL)
Any of my buddies out there have some recipes or ideas?

Oh we have like three crates of blueberries right now. We add them to muffin mixes, you can add them to a cake mix. You can add them to your pancake mix, or waffle mix. We make juice or smoothies with them. You can also put them in a pot, with a touch of water and a touch of sugar or maple syrup and let them cook till they split and make blueberry syrup.
We have done blueberries, strawberries and either blackberries or raspberries and a touch of sugar. Do them over "shortcake" or as an ice cream topper.
Top a cream cheese pie with them.
(1 graham cracker pie crust. 1 tub whip cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 brick cream cheese, mixed till creamy, put in pie shell and refrigerate)
Just some stuff we have done with them.
You can definitely freeze some -- they hold up incredibly well. There are also tons of things you can make beyond the standard muffins & pies -- I'd highly recommend playing with some smoothie recipes or syrups. You could also make some awesome crumb bars! http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/07/blueberry-crumb-bars/ :)
