Update

The doctors visit went well.

Funny thing... when the doctor left the room after saying "we are going to give you a shot to ease the pain and a referral to an orthopedic doctor to see what tests they can run", I started crying. I don't know why I was worried they wouldn't believe me. Maybe I cried because it was relief that they believe me? Maybe it was knowing that I can get some answers? Is therapy in my future? Who knows, but at least I'm on the journey to find out.

The shot worked to ease the pain in my wrist and hand. But now my shoulder where they did the injection is killing me! I told Carl that maybe the shot is a placebo and it makes your injection site sore so you don't think about the rest of the pain. I don't care what it is... my wrist feels better than it has in months.

Crazy Ivan
(this is a term my co-workers and I use when we knowingly go off on a tangent)

While sitting in the doctor's waiting room something that struck me funny. Every time someone was called back, the nurse would ask them "How are you today?" and everyone would say "Fine"... ummm... hello... you are at the DOCTOR'S office -- you are obviously not feeling FINE.

Of course I said it too... but I chuckled when I did.

Well good, that's good news. At least something is being done instead of just suffering!

my brother in law had the carpal tunnel surgery on both his hands/wrists. It was harder to heal his dominant hand, cuz he couldn't "leave it alone" but he is so much pain free now. Have hope!!!

Sorry about your injection site sweetie, but soooo glad your wrist feels better.

I understand the crying thing. If you don't have an obvious injury you always kind of think no one believes you that it really hurts. It took a long time and a lot of reading for my family to understand about my condition. The Dr.s always understood, but I am glad my family does now.

The "I am feeling fine" thing? I never thought about it, but gosh that made me laugh - it is so true and I will never be able to say "Oh, I'm fine" again...LOL.
