What time is it?!

I have a long commute. You have heard me rant about it before.

Because of my trek across the globe, I have to get up at an un-godly hour... 4:40 a.m. This enables me to take my shower, get ready, pack a lunch, grab coffee at the QT and make it to work by 6:30 a.m.

This morning I get up, turn on the TV and proceed to get ready to start my routine. I notice the program that is on isn't the one I usually watch (or should I say listen to as I stand in the bathroom primping). I don't really think anything about it... programs change all the time, right?

So, I'm in and out of the shower -- and that same program is on. I start to think it is strange after all... (showers are great for actually waking you up!) I look at the alarm clock next to the bed... yep... right time. I grab my watch...

Holy hell...

It is JUST 4:30 a.m.!!

Somehow my alarm clock has moved forward 30 minutes.

It isn't the first time this has happened. I've noticed it a couple of times and brushed it off to the kids playing with the clock or Carl hitting the wrong button while trying to hit the snooze. Just the other day he got up a full hour and a half early because the clock was wrong.

Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. I have been awake since 4:10. Sleep means a lot to me... and I just missed out on a good 30 minutes of it.

So what is wrong with my clock? I can think of a few possibilities:
  1. The kids are messing around in our room and playing with it. They don't go in our room much so this is low on the possibility scale.
  2. We are having power surges that effect ONLY the clock in our bedroom.
  3. Mychael is having a field day with some new tricks he's learned.
  4. We need a new clock.

I'm betting on number four. We've had this clock for about 10 years... I've just never had a digital alarm clock do this type of thing without human intervention.

Have you?

***Even the time of this post says 4:06 a.m. For some reason, Blogger stamps the time for my posts an hour earlier than the actual time. I've tried to fix it and it doesn't stick. For the record... at 5:06 in the morning, I am usually just now drying my hair. GAH!***

Some sort of strange electrical field interacting with your fan and your clock?

My time stamp on Blogger was messed up until I selected the daylight savings time click button in settings. Try that (if you haven't).

Yeah, sounds like an old clock...or poltergeists.

Mychael.

Hey, I was up at 4:10; didn't go to bed until 5:10 (our time, not Blogger time); should have called.

I lose my mind if I lose a minute of sleep..I can't imagine 30! I think it's your ghostly friend playing tricks with you.

This is a perfect excuse to go buy a fancy new alarm clock with lots of bells and whistles. Well, maybe not actual bells and whistles. That would be annoying.
