Night visions

I had the strangest dream last night. You know how dreams jump around and go in crazy directions? This one was no exception.

It was my birthday and Carl and several friends (I have NO idea who they were) decided to throw me a party in an empty store at a strip mall. There were chairs set up and people milling about. I brought in my own balloons and let them go. The entire ceiling was littered with white and red "normal" balloons; mixed is were Hello Kitty and glittery pink mylar ones.

Suddenly everyone starts talking about the serial killers that are attacking folks in this neighborhood - and particularly at parties! I started freaking out and decided we needed to leave.

We (meaning Carl and the entire birthday party) jumped on our horses and rode through a few canyons until we came to an old western town. (I think this part came from Ree's pictures yesterday. The walls of the canyon looked just like the pictures of MM and her boy) In this town we decided to go antique shopping. I found a beautitul bed along with a round night table. We were wrapping up the night table for shipping when we realized one of our guests was missing. In a panic we took off to go find him.

We were traipsing through what looked like the bottom level of a parking deck (on foot - no horses this time), weaving in and out of the cars and talking the entire time about where we can go look for the missing person. Suddenly someone says "There he is!"

I run into the arms of Michael Stipe who gives me the sweetest kisses and hugs. (Not romantic, tongue wrestling kisses. These were sweet little pecks on the lips and cheek.) He says "Happy birthday, sweetheart!" and hands me a shoe box. I remember thinking "but he already gave me a pair of boots. Why is he giving me another pair of shoes?" I opened the box and inside were a pair of berry-scented sandals. I smelled them. I passed them to the frat boys (?!) that were laughing at our public display of affection and they admired them as well. They gave them back so I sniffed them again, kissed Michael one more time and told him that I loved the shoes.

Then I woke up.

How strange is that? Antique shopping in an old western town?

We could blame it on all that drinking we did in college! I have some strange ones too.

By the way, I posted to your previous one too about the little snotty kid.

Yeah... I'll blame it on the drinking! HA!

I read your post and you are so right... I don't think he'll come back unless we have a LOOOONG discussion.

Unsettling and hilarious Marni. I should have sent some of my blonde people over to your dream!

Nice review on Idolatry by the way.

That's awesome! I'm so glad somebody else has long convoluted dreams!

(I;m not even going to try to analyze it- that would take away all the fun!)

Dang! Talk about vividly remembering a dream. Weird!

Isn't Michael Stipe in everyone's dreams?
