The cows would be proud

I live in a small town. (No this isn't the beginning of Little Pink Houses) It is right off the interstate so we have some fast food joints like Mickey Dees, Wendy's, Krystal, etc. We even have two -- count 'em, two! - Waffle Houses; one on either side of the interstate.

SO

One restaurant we didn't have was Chick-fil-A. That changed today. The doors opened on the new establishment at 6 a.m. The first 100 people through the doors received one free meal a week for the next year.

Can I tell you what a mad house it was?

I didn't go. I drove by at 5:30 this morning. There were at least 500 people in the parking lot. They were milling about waiting for the doors to open. There were news crews and even one of the traffic helicopters flew overhead! WTF?!

Can you say "Slow news day"?

And even worse than that? People were camping out last night. Yes... they had tents set up in the parking lot and were hanging out like they were waiting for concert tickets or something.

I'm amazed. All of that for a fricken' chicken sandwich.

Not just any chicken sandwich though! I love Chick-fil-A! I remember the madhouse it was when one opened near me in Florida. I wish they'd open one where I am now. So yummy!

Hehe... it really is a good chicken sandwich, but that's ridiculous.
